Ponds have been recognized as the most valuable inland water body for fish production. Nowadays most of the fish ponds are under great stress due to various human activities such as bathing, washing of clothes, immersion of idols and disposal of domestic wastes. All these interferences are ultimately causing an undesirable change in physico-chemical and biological properties of water, which ultimately affect the productivity potential of the fish pond.
